According to numerous studies, the prevalence of post-traumatic stress disorder is estimated between 1-10% of the world’s population. The analysis of these variations is complex. Most are due to the nature of the various criteria selected to pose the diagnosis, and according to various versions of the systems of classification of the diseases between the publications of the DSM III through to the current publication of the DSM IV TR.
